Some crowds surprise you. Playing for a shipping association gala at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, we half-expected a reserved, business-first room, instead we got guests requesting encores.
Our jazz quartet, featuring Carol on vocals leaned into classic standards and soulful covers, reading the energy song by song as the night unfolded. There's a particular joy in watching people who've spent all day talking logistics and contracts loosen up, trade the boardroom for the dance floor, and just enjoy the music. That's the magic of live jazz at a corporate event done right: it doesn't just fill the background, it becomes the highlight.
